No pictures, but a bit of family goings on

Our camera reader thing-y is not cooperating, so here is the news in type format.

We decided at the proverbial last minute to go to the film festival in San Antonio, sponsored by Vision Forum Ministries. We left Wednesday night , kinda late, after work, and drove all night and all Thursday , arriving in lovely San Antonio Thursday afternoon, to register and check-in. We showered and dressed and went to opening ceremonies Thursday night.

Friday and Saturday were whirls of activity, screenings , fun lunches and delightful river-side Mexican cuisine at Casa Rio. We enjoyed seeing the delightful Carpenter family from Tennessee, meeting the Spradleys from San Antonio, and briefly shaking hands with the Botkins and Mr. Howard Phillips.

Now, Mr. Howard is very special to the Morton family. He's been a real inspiration to our sons. He reminds us of our own Grandfather, Dr. Jerry Cox, who lives here in Moultrie. Both men are larger than life but so gentle and willing to share their lives with the young men about them. These men are men of integrity , who put 'right' ahead of personal prestige or gain. What a treat it would have been to have our Grandparents with us in San Antonio. We'd of had to strap some of us to the roof- we had our van packed!!

We saw the Powers family from Georgia and the Thomas clan from Massachusetts. The Smiths were there and Hosea Horneman and we met the lovely Cheryl Serven - I understand that family sings....

I met a dear lady named Kelly, who shared my delightful dilemma of 3 year-old boyhood during the screening of a film! It was good to see the Ramseys again and Kathleen Zes, one of the most gracious and delightful ladies I know. She is like a breath of fresh air.

Oh, the Festival and the River Walk - outstanding!!

Well, more later!! Consider going next year - It will be the last week in October. It is lots of fun and very inspiring. I especially was touched by the talks on prayer and home unity. Jeanine

Hi Morton Clan!
I regularly read and enjoy your blog. I was just looking at pictures on Michael Thomas' blog and saw some of y'all on it. The Festival sounds like it was delightful!

Here's praying the Pethtels make it next year. Mark says we are going! We look forward to seeing you there (hopefully we will see you before that though :-) )
