An update from Mom

Drum roll, please.................This weekend marks the 75th birthday of the dear Grandfather of the Morton Clan, Jerry Cox. We are all gathering Saturday to mark the occaision, with much food and the planting of a rose garden for GrandMom.

Now, you may well ask, why a rose garden for the Grandmother when it is the Grandfather's birthday? Well, she has always wanted a rose garden and we just decided that this was a good time to do a rose garden. :)

What a joy and blessing they are. There is nothing more wonderful than knowing that Grandfather and Grandmother are praying for you as you toil in the field of parenthood, that field that they know so well. What a blessing to surround them with the fruit of their sowing , many grandchildren who love God and bless their elders.

Children and grandchildren will gather in Moultrie to celebrate and wield shovels , to plant roses and share family stories and songs and to bless Granddaddy on his birthday.

They have been excitedly preparing for the weekend, sprucing up this and that. Mom has recently been released from treatment for bone marrow cancer, as she was released in 1994, and God has a wonderful purpose for Mom's life, and Granddaddy and all of us are very grateful to the Lord for His mercy and healing and our years together.

So now you know why we are planting a rose garden for Grandmom when it is Granddad's birthday.
