Playing with Fondant

The other day we did a practice run on a cake we're going to do, Lord willing, at a dear friend's baby shower coming up~It being a shower for a little girl, we wanted to do alot of pink stuff, and ribbons, and ah.... Anyway, We had so much fun with it!! We decided on a "gift wrapped cake" look. It was our first try with fondant, and we like the way it looks, but, I 'm afraid, the taste could be alot better~It's not bad, or course, being pure sugar, but you eat a piece, and you're thinking, what's this leathery stuff on here for, and then you end up leaving it on the plate like an orange peel....Oh, well. We'll see. But I thought you girls might enjoy the pictures in the mean time! :)
Love,
Adeline

A SHORT CORNY STORY for the amusement of auther and reader
"One bright day five cowboys went out on the rolling prairie to have a good ole' photography session~they were having a fine time getting a picture of and admiring their fine silhouettes, when, suddenly, due to the distraction of their own shadows, a sixth silhouettes was noticed. A big, mean shadow, with a slouched hat, sagging socks, and an un~ironed bandanna. He had no boots, and the obvious intent of this robbery was to acquire a pair. And maybe a little money. Our five good guy cowboys quickly, using their trusty eye signals, communicated a stealthy plan to each other under the cover of their hats. [ The vicious outlaw now interrupts the pleasant cowboy photo op, demanding their gold dust, rings, carpet bags, toy guns~and that fine pair of brown boots. No. The newer ones. that's right. Hand 'em over, sonny.]
"It's a hold up, gents!!!!" the cowboys shout in a theatrical tone.
" Reach for the sky, or I'll send you there pronto!!" growls the outlaw in return.
Of course, this is not how this thrilling tale ends~after the exciting shoot out, the pleasant cowboys capture the greedy villain and take him to town for a good whipping, bootless. The good folks of Mortown are troubled no more by the solitary highwayman, and peace reigned in the county of Calathora. The end. {Well, not really. the best part of this yarn is that the outlaw turned to the Lord Jesus, and actually became the owner and operator of the livery stable, becoming quite successful after he built up his reputation. And, his sweet new wife now irons his bandannas, and he was just recently given a fine pair of boots, plus a cow hide briefcase, by his new friends, THE FIVE PLEASANT COWBOYS.
The End. Really.} Long shot...
