Gardening

Ah, gardening season is here at last!! Bliss!
We spent all morning Saturday in the garden having a good, paws-in-dirt time. Under Daddy's wonderful direction, we did allot of pulling up of hundreds of little sprouts, and then re-planting them in order and where each variety should go. It felt so good to get out in the dirt and dig! After lunch we did a little weeding amongst the larger broccoli's, peas and luttuce', and then I think that wrapped it up, for now! Now all it needs is rain (well, the sprinkler systems does well, too, LOL) sun and time 'till we are the partakers of crispy fresh, organic food!! Busy hands...
Little luttuces ready for planting...

All the sprouts, wrapped in moist paper towels to keep them nice and watered. (Sometimes on sunny days we use that bucket in the background to keep the sun off of them, but that day it was nice and cloudy, tra-la!! It was so nice out.
"And then, whom did Peter see around the bend, but Mr. McGregor on his hands and knees planting out young cabbages!" :) Of course in this case it would be Mrs. McGregor, and of course that literary villainess is nothing like our sweet Dee...

Tagged!

Hellooo!! Hope you're having a wonderful evening.

Well, we've been tagged by our dear Mortons!! (Oh, listen up, y'all-little side note here-this is cool-we meet the "other" ;) Morton family at a father/daughter retreat several years ago, and when we introduced our selves, we came to find that the Father has the same name as our Dad, the Mama has almost the exact same name as our Mom, and they have a daughter named Katie!! Isn't that, just, amazing! :) We were so tickled! So, thanks for the tag, Mortons! So good to hear from y'all!)

OK, now we shall proceed on with the game:
Here it is. Yes, a fifth picture, pulled from old files as the rules say. Isn't Paul a doll? No, hon, he didn't shoot the turkey-Samuel did, and our Small Sprout felt the need to pose. Cutie! :D Little brothers are so much fun. We were so proud of Sam for his hunting, and blessed by Paul's smile.

Dorothy cooked up the birdie, and he was quite tasty when accompanied with cream sauce. The fowl's feathers still adorn many hats and have been subjected to "pens" by darling inventors. ;) So,

The rules for this tag are as follows:
1. go to your documents/pictures.
2. go to your 5th file.
3. go to your 5th picture.
4. blog about it.
5. tag 5 people …...

Alrighty, I tag whoever wants to play-It's fun, and easy, too, so give it a whirl. We would love to see a random picture of yours!

Goodnight!

Thanksgiving

Hello, Folks!
Well, what wonderful days of thanksgiving we had together on the 27 and 28. We had a delightful meal with part of our family on the 27, {enjoying the amazing lights, a hamburger and the whole town on the square that evening!} and then when Katie, Alan, the kids, and our grandparents came in the next day, we had another feast and more wonderful celebrating...So, all in all, we had our dear Grand Daddy and Nana, our children and all the grandchildren here all at one time...I think that's one of the most precious things in the whole world, when you have your family around the table with you...

We have so much to be thankful to our precious Heavenly Father for-too many to name-but the most important thing that we have to be grateful for, is His amazing love, and His sending His only Son to restore our relationship with Him. That is truly awesome.
Thank You, Father...

The day dawns... The little munchkin enjoying his food like a man... "Did you say beans?" "Hear ye, hear ye!!"
Priscilla Mullen Alden bearing gourds and squashes...What an amazing lady...{guess what? One of her direct descendant is one of our dearest friends, Mrs. Cindy L., who's maiden name was Alden!! Wow...So neat.
A darling picture Kress took of Michael Jr. and little Carlos. They take turns reading aloud... ;)
Down town lights!!! How glorious..they turn 'em on on Thanksgiving night, and the whole town shows up for the fun!! The lights hang like a canopy from the tipy top of the courthouse...
We ran into lots of dear old friends-It was such a joy to see P., now married with the cutest little girl and one on the way!!! Praise God! And also our dear baby sitter from years ago, L.-this isn't her, of course, this is her adorable, darling little guy-isn't he just a doll? It was soo good to see you, Mrs. L!!!
