Who said this?

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"

Leave your answer in the comment section. I'll post the answer in a few days. A friend of ours forwarded this to us and we thought it was very interesting.

  1. Because gun ownership is good but registration is usually the first tactic of tyrants trying to take away guns...I'm going with Hitler. One of history's most notorious gun-grabbers. :)

  2. Sorry, but that quote is FALSELY attributed to Adolf Hitler. It is often quoted and historically interesting considering the nature of Hitler's regime, but nevertheless, not accurate.

  5. Probably true Laura B!

Even if Hitler did not say this outright, he did put it into practice. Jews were not allowed to own guns, or work around guns or weapons long before they were taken to the camps. So Hitler was, in all effectiveness, controlling who had guns (and later communication like radios) and who did not.

    Scary quote nonetheless!
