We have a Grand Announcement

As blog readers and other friends and loved ones will remember, Wesley Morton and Rachel Smith were honored on May 19 with a betrothal ceremony.

Rachel's widowed grandmother, Alma Smith, from the Atlanta area, came to rejoice with her granddaughter and our dear Granddad, Jerry Cox , came to rejoice with Wesley and the family.

Well, preparations were underway and they both pitched in to help. They were helping to cut up some kiwi fruit for the feast and struck up a cordial conversation and .................drum roll ,please............................. we have the honour of announcing an engagement.

On June 16, Dr. Jerome C. Cox and Mrs. Alma Smith will unite in marriage. Their engagement party was June 1 and in reminiscing over the events of the past few weeks, it was said, "It was love at first slice." :)

So, out of one betrothal ceremony came another betrothal, and two covenants of companionship will be established in the family this summer. The Smith- Morton/Cox families are joined once again, for the Lord's purposes. We are grateful to the Lord for bringing these two couples together.

We now know that courting couples are the same, regardless of age - giggling , giddy, grinning and inspiring to us all for their delight in each other. God bless these two new households.

( Someone said I should write a book and I said " No one would believe me.")

The cell phones and the florists have been kept busy these past weeks and between Wesley and his Granddad, the road between Moultrie and Atlanta has been a little busier.

Have a wonderful rest of June and, as you think of us , remember us in prayer to the Lord that He will direct all the whirl of joy this coming summer. He has said that He will direct our steps , if we acknowledge Him, and He is a faithful Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ is a faithful intercessor before Him on our behalf. He loves and hears the prayers of the saints and those prayers avail much. Isn't it amazing to think about GOD listening to our prayers and supplications?

Here's to Granddad and Nana and Wesley and Rachel. God bless them.

Joke[s] of the Week

Social Tips for Rednecks

1. Always identify people in your yard before shooting at them.
2. If you have to vacuum the bed, it's time to change the sheets.
3. Even if your certain that you're included in the will, it's rude to drive a U-Haul to the funeral.

4. Dim your lights for approaching vehicles, even if the gun is loaded and the deer is in sight.
5. When approaching a four way stop, the vehicle with the largest tires does not always have the right of way.
6. Do not lay rubber while traveling in a funeral procession.

7. Refrain from talking to the characters on the screen at the theater. Tests have proven that they can't hear you.

Camping Trip Retro

Hello, Everybody!
Good afternoon!! Hope you all are well.
Amanda D. kindly gave me a cd of pictures from a camping trip we took a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd post some! Hope you enjoy.
We had a wonderful time swimming, canoing, attempting to roast marshy marsh mellows {it was drizzly all afternoon on day 2~but that only made the swimming funner! } and swinging from Alan and Cleveland's massive rope swing! They tied a huge rope to a really tall tree, over hanging the cool, flowing river, {"Sharp rocks at the bottom?" "Most likely." No, they moved all precarious objects out of the way...;) Brothers are so sweet...} and then built a ladder up the slope~you could elegantly tip toe up the ladder, gracefully take hold of the soft rope, {envision a French toile, with a swinging maiden, with the vines growing down the rope and flowers everywhere, ect....} and glide out over the water and decend down into the soft silken sea after sailing through the air!!! ;) Well, some of them could. ;) I had a delightful time, anyway, {please, continue to envision French toile....}
The highlight of the weekend was Wesley's and Rachel's bethrothel~Words cannot express my joy and excitement for this upcoming union~What a tremendous blessing to have such a godly young woman to be my brother's wife!! Praise the Lord!!
Ah, I do believe tent camping beside a river is one of the most delightful things in the world. Especially when the Lord has blessed {me} with such a precious Daddy and Mama and family and friends to do it with.
Well, little Paul has requested a 'picinicka' out doors for lunch, and Dorothy, such a sweet sister, has obliged his little request~they are ready, so I must go!
Have a wonderful afternoon!
Adeline

Precious Mama
Precious GrandDaddy, all ready in his "sleeping bag"! What a cutie. "Yah, the snakes sure 'nuf can't crawl in with you when your sleepin' bag in on ya!!" LOL... We sure did enjoy having GrandDaddy with us~he used to train boy scout leaders, so he had the boys do all kinds of nifty things to kept the camp tidy and kept us warm and comfy.... :) We sure love you!
Dear Amanda D.
{Thanks for all the pictures! Love you!}
Mum dear cooking breakfast~delicious, Mama!
Michael and Kressant enjoy coffee and the happenings of the day!
Would you like to go on a walk?

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
A picture is a thousand words....

{they were across the river, but Amanda's camera had a zoom. ;)}
Rowing back to shore...isn't the "waterfall" beautiful!? ;)

They're here!!
"A crowd has gathered to greet you!"
